Folding one draft line into another — Plot copies the source’s current document onto the target (source-wins), archives the source line, and leaves a clear before/after in history.
Incorporate is how a winning full draft line becomes the draft you keep living in. In Phase 1, the operation is whole-document source-wins: the source tree replaces the target document, and the source line is archived afterward. Plan for that shape before you treat incorporate like a buffet of favorite scenes.
If you only need to try another joke, button, or act landing, do not open a full draft line solely to cherry-pick later. Use a take for scene- or act-scoped experiments, then promote the winner into the main draft. That is the honest path for selective work in the product today. Keep that standard visible when notes arrive so the next pass stays honest.
After incorporate, create a named save point so the newly landed whole document has a labeled baseline. Selective scene-by-scene draft-line incorporate is not yet available -- if a guide or habit assumes cherry-picking from a parallel script, treat that as roadmap, not current behavior you can rely on.
